Wives & Children of Jacob (Israel) in accordance with Genesis – Chapter(s) 29 – 30 and Chapter 35:16-18
Jacob had 2 primary wives, the sisters, Leah and Rachel. He also had two lessor wives (concubines), who were the handmaids of each primary wife. Jacob, who was renamed Israel by The Most High, was the father of 12 sons (numbered above according to their birth) and one daughter.

Genesis – Chapter 49:1-33 (Jacob's Blessing)

From his twelve sons came the 12 Tribes of Israel (Genesis 49). There seems to be some confusion on this, as men have chosen to change what is written in scripture (Ephraim and Manasseh ARE NOT separate tribes; they are the two sons of Joseph by his Egyptian wife Asenath which make up the House of Joseph; this will be explained more fully later). I am not sure if this information is given as a means of deceiving our people or just recorded as thus out of ignorance. Furthermore, although Levi is the priestly class, he is still one of the 12 sons and therefore a Tribe of Levi son of Israel as defined in Genesis 49; so the notion that he is not considered as a tribe is not in accordance with the word of The Most High. That being said, let’s break down the roles and/or duties of each tribe based upon the blessing given by their father, and further dispel the 10, 12, 13 lost tribes myths (especially as they are written in historical records such as the encyclopedia Britannica).

Reuben – Jacob’s oldest son, slept with his father’s concubine Bilhah (Genesis 35:22), which resulted in him losing his birthright, which Israel divided between to the two sons of Joseph instead. His decendants were of the 1st to be carried away captive to (1 Chronicles 5:1-2). His father called him worthless as "piss" telling him that because of his transgression he would not excel.

Simeon – The 2nd oldest son of Jacob, he and his younger brother Levi deceived and murdered out of anger for the rape of their sister Dinah (Genesis 34); while their anger would seem justifiable, the perpetrator came to their father in peace and willingness to atone for the wrong done towards Dinah, even offering to marry her and pay any dowry amount as well as become cleansed through the rite of circumcision (which Simeon presented in his deception), however after the men accepted the terms Simeon and Levi still murdered them and destroyed the entire city. Israel’s blessing to them was to separate them (I speculate that most blame was placed on Simeon being that he was older than Levi and influenced his participation); ultimately the Tribe of Simeon would be not to have any land inheritance and would eventually be dependent upon the Tribe of Judah (Joshua 19:1-9), who had an overabundance and was willing to take them in.
